I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It was great for Dustin and I to get to see each other. His ropes course/class ended by noon on Saturday so we were still able to spend most of the day together which was delightful :) We had lots of typical Dustin and Bethany weekend adventures.
Sunday morning we drove down to Austin to have brunch with my family for Mother's Day. We had our usually family crowd: Mom, Dad, Mamie, Uncle Marshall, Dustin and I, Seth, Hannah, and Ryan. In addition to that, Ryan's parents and sister had come into town to meet our family and they joined us for brunch. We went to Green Pastures, where Hannah happens to be getting married, and it was faaaaabulous. We've been there several times in the past for their lavish brunches, but haven't been since any of use were old enough to drink and we were all excited to finally be able to try the milk punch: vanilla ice cream, brandy, rum, bourbon and milk. It was everything I had hoped it would be :)
Sunday Dustin stayed in Austin and we got to hang out some more. The dogs went absolutely nuts in my parents backyard. Both spent a significant time in the pool, rolling around in the grass, chasing each other like it was going out of style, chasing birds, chasing squirrels, chasing their own tails on occasion and generally wreaking havoc on anything and everything. I love them :)
Today Dustin slept in while I got up early for work. Boo. He rounded up the dogs and prepared to head back to Waco but decided to stop and see his friend Brandon. I'm so glad they got to catch up, Brandon is one of Dustin's best friends and has been for a long time. So now Dustin is back in Waco with two freshly bathed (thank you sweetie) dogs and plans to study some for a big test he has in July. I'm sitting at my parents house in Austin trying to do anything in the world other than finish this paper which is due tomorrow. I think in my next life instead of going to law school I'll teach English in Europe indefinitely.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and a Happy Mother's Day! A big thank you to all the moms out there (especially mine, who did a great job raising a very stubborn yours truly)--mom's truly make the world go round!
