Houston & Dress Shopping

So I spent Saturday in Houston with my mom and sister shopping for Hannah's dress. We went to lunch and made a day of it; it was a blast to hang out with both of them and have a girls day! It's hard to do that with Hannah in Galveston, Mom in Austin and me in Waco, so I really enjoyed this.

Anyways, at first dress shopping seemed to be a bit of a challenge because Hannah wanted a very non traditional dress....no sparkles, no beads, no lace, no train, no full skirt, etc. etc. The first boutique she had an appointment at had one dress that seemed better than the rest, but it didn't have that "this is it" feeling (at least for me, I'm not sure about Hannah, haha).

I liked the second boutique much much better. Hannah tried on tons of dresses, the first one of which I really liked and everything afterwards I was just like "nope, nope not going to beat that first one." AND THEN, right before we were done, she tried on one that she probably would have never picked out but that she had seen on another customer and WHOA. This was a WOW dress. Hannah you're going to look EXQUISITE on your wedding day :)

My Mom especially enjoyed driving around Houston because we were in an area that was her old stomping ground when her and my dad lived in Houston while they were in nursing/dental school (respectively). So I'm glad that was exciting for her.

Dustin has had a very productive weekend, he wrote a big research paper that he had been worried about and felt great about getting it done. He's also done a fair amount of other schoolwork in addition to that. He's always so on top of things with school, I hope our children inherit that from him and not my infernal procrastination.

That said, today has been a nice Sunday filled with grocery shopping, laundry, homework, etc. We have both our sliding doors open to the balcony and have been enjoying this gorgeous spring day! Springtime in Texas is truly spectacular!
